GUYDA Executive Bios
Leslie E.C. Stewart is a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer and a New York City licensed Site Safety Manager. Mr. Stewart worked for three Major Construction Companies as a Senior Manager and Project Executive for over 38 years. He supervised the construction of roads, bridges, schools, and several other buildings including the Queens Civil Court in NY and MetLife Stadium in NJ.
He currently manages his private Engineering and Architectural Company. Mr. Stewart is a board member of several nonprofit organizations and is the president of both GUYDA and Charlestown Alumni Association of New York (CAANY). He uses his talents to assist and mentor youth and young adults to be very productive in their respective societies

Enric Kendall is a life-long educator who worked for the Department of Education in New York City for twenty-seven years. He is a retired high school principal who is currently working as a professor at a City University of New York.
Mr. Kendall’s knowledge and skills are grounded from his educational experiences achievements that ranges from a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology, to a Post-Grad Diploma in School Administration and Supervision (SDA). He used his wealth of knowledge and skills during his tenure as an educator to nurture assistant principals, teachers, and students. His role as an educator allowed him to develop a real passion for working with teenagers and young adults. Indeed, thousands of students have passed through his hands during his tenure as an educator and many have succeeded in becoming doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, lawyers, etc.
Mr. Kendall wanted the opportunity to continue working with young people and therefore did not hesitate to join GUYDA. As the current Vice President of GUYDA, Mr. Kendall plans to continue to share his strongest strengths in mathematics and technology with the youth of Guyana, in order to promote their knowledge and achievements in areas that would contribute to a positive path towards their STEM education.
Dr. Barbara Kendall is an educator who has worked for the New York City Public School system for over 27 years, in the capacity as a teacher, teachers’ coach, assistant principal, and principal. After serving as a middle school principal, Dr. Kendall continued her contribution to the educational sector in higher education, where she is currently working as a professor at a City University of New York.
Dr. Kendall is proud to be a member of GUYDA where she holds the position of Organizing Secretary. She plans to share with GUYDA, her wealth of knowledge and experience in organizational management, technology literacy, student mentoring, and educational coaching. She hopes to positively contribute to GUYDA’s mission, by working with the youth in Guyana, by providing mentoring and other needed educational reforms.
Barbara Kendall, Ph.D.
My name is Catherine George former Financial Analyst at JPMorgan Chase Bank from 1997 to 2008. Then from October 2010 to May 2018 Administrative Assistant with AHRC-NYC. I am currently enjoying life at home as well as with my Colleagues in GUYDA, as Secretary 1.

Victor Osborne Phill is a psychologist and holds a license in Mental Health Counseling. For more than three decades, Mr. Phill worked with the New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH). He has a passion for bringing healing to persons who have been through traumatic and stressful experiences. As Public Relations Officer of GUYDA, Mr. Phill focuses on using his skills and experience in psychology and mental health to bring awareness to the mission of GUYDA, and to provide opportunities for mental health support to families in Guyana.
Victor Osborne Phill

Served for many years as treasurer and assistant treasurer since his formative days at the Trade Youth Movement in the late sixties and early seventies in Guyana. Has been the Assistant Treasurer for the New York Tutorial Support Group (NYTSG) for over ten years and currently serves on its Finance Committee with broad financial responsibilities.
He has been the Treasurer of GUYDA since 2005 and has been instrumental in seeing its assets grow from one thousand to forty thousand dollars over those years and look forward to growing the assets even larger to help ascertain the mission of GUYDA for the future.
His academics were cultivated at PACE University Lubin School of Business where he graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems which required the study of many accounting, management, and finance courses. He went on to develop his skills in the banking industry working for twenty-five years at Citigroup in the Corporate Banking Division as a Financial and Management Analyst. Mr. Callender functioned as Management and Financial consultant for over five years and currently works for the United States Treasury where he continues to use his financial and management skills.
Bibi brings 15 years of financial management experience to her position as Co-Treasurer of GUYDA. She is also a real estate entrepreneur. Bibi is a member of the newly formed Young Professionals of GUYDA. Our goal is to connect with other young professionals to use our combined skills and knowledge to help the youth and young adults in Guyana and the USA. Bibi is passionate about assisting others in whatever way she can. She lives in Queens, NY, and enjoys running and reading in her spare time.
Dr. Sherry Hamilton is an ordained minister and certified Life Coach. She has worked in the New York City Department of Education for 32 years as a teacher and District Administrator. Dr. Hamilton serves on the Board of several nonprofit organizations and is the Chaplain of GUYDA. Dr. Hamilton seeks to provide educational opportunities for the advancement of the youth in Guyana including teacher training. She also uses her skills to provide grief support to families who have lost loved ones.
